President of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL), Mythili Hazarika was invited as a speaker in a webinar on 19th June 2020 organised by Assam Police on psychosocial management of substance use disorders with other eminent panelists. The webinar called “Drug abuse challenges and a way ahead” also included Honorable IGP CID Mr Surendra Kumar, DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, ADGP CID Dr L R Bishnoi, Vice Chancellor Bhabesh Chandra Goswami, Eminent Psychiatrist Dr Jayanta Das with more than 200 participants from Police and Cotton university.

The President of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL), Mythili Hazarika shared the platform with an eminent psychiatrist Dr Virinchi Sharma from Hyderabad in the ‘National webinar on Managing roller coaster of emotions during covid 19’ jointly organised by Little Flower Degree College Hyderabad And Sonapur College Guwahati to address the various aspects of mental health during this pandemic as a speaker on the 18th June 2020 in an academic national webinar. Mythili Hazarika addressed the topic of ‘COVID-19 pandemic and its multi-dimensional impact across generations’.

In a talk show at the TV channel, DY365, anchored by Snigdha Shikha, the President of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL), Mythili Hazarika, the Secretary of SoMHiL, Bornali Das, and the Editor-in-Chief of the Open Journal of Psychiatry & Allied Sciences (OJPAS®), Shyamanta Das, along with Manjula Hazarika, talked on the stigma of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the mental health initiative, Monon.

The Honourable Health Minister, Government of Assam, India, launches “Monon”, a programme to address and fill the gap of mental health needs of the COVID-19 patients as well as the quarantined individuals, with a team of psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical psychologists, psychiatric social workers, and trained voluntary counsellors, under the observation and leadership of Mythili Hazarika, Bornali Das, and Shyamanta Das.

The President of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL), Mythili Hazarika acted as a moderater for yet another session in the first global conclave with eminent panelists Simriti Singh (Delhi), Alia El Naggar( Dubai) and Dr Harish Kumar( USA) on challenges and needs of children with special needs.

On 25 May, the President of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL), Mythili Hazarika acted as a moderator of the session on ‘Autism Spectrum Disorder’ today with speakers Simriti Singh, Alia El Naggar and Dr Vassavi Acharyya.
