In order to strengthen the mental health initiative of the Government of Assam, namely Monon, new recruits were trained through a webinar, hosted by Papori Goswami from ECHO India Trust, where the resource persons were Lunhaolal Kuki, Chandamita Barua, Rijusmita Sarma, the Editorial Assistant of the Open Journal of Psychiatry & Allied Sciences (OJPAS®), Bornali Das, the Secretary of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL), and Shyamanta Das, the Editor-in-Chief of OJPAS®.

Paint Your Imagination

At this hour, to be creative and to stimulate people’s minds ‘MONON’ is now initiating a new mission which is believed to be therapeutic for all. The theme is ‘Paint your imagination’ and it is open for all from kids to elderly population.  The submisssions will be judged by veteran artists and results would be declared on the Independence Day. Everyone can send their creative work through the email id listed below within two weeks. 10th August 2020 is the deadline.

Reinforcing Monon

Shyamanta Das, the Editor-in-Chief of the Open Journal of Psychiatry & Allied Sciences (OJPAS®) started and Mythili Hazarika, the President of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL) ended the webinar hosted by Papori Goswami from ECHO India Trust for the new recruits to reinforce the endeavour of Monon, the mental health initiative of the Government of Assam for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)-positive individuals where Lunhaolal Kuki, Chandamita Barua, and Rijusmita Sarma, the Editorial Assistant of OJPAS® were the resource persons.

Suicide Risk Management

Bornali Das, the Secretary of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC participated in training of counselling officers on Suicide Risk management of 104 helpline alongwith Arundhati Bhagawati and Dr Tridip Choudhury.
