On 10th November 2019, Mythili Hazarika,  the President of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL) was the master of the ceremony  for the“Second Professor Deepali Dutta Memorial oration” organised by the Department of Psychiatry, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.Honorable orator Professor Ranjit Kumar dev Goswami delivered  his talk  on “The subject in question, a series of general observations on the fate of the Self down the ages”.

On November 3rd 2019,  The President of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL), Mythili Hazarika was invited as the distinguished speaker on a theme titled  ‘Positive Parenting ‘ organised by Holy Heart English Medium school. The organisers deserve applause for such a theme for the parents of early years of education (3-7 yrs old) to generate awareness, early identification of behaviour and emotional issues and intervention, if required. The pertinent questions raised by the parents were addressed.

On 20th Oct 2019, Mythili Hazarika, the President of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL) was a guest speaker in the brain storming session on ‘Inclusive education:Issues and challenges’ along with Mr Kauser Hilaly the commissioner of persons with disability in the national conference by Early childhood development forum at NEDFI House. The committee was quite meticulous in choosing the topics of relevance and very well organised under the able leadership of founder chairperson of ECDF Dr Vasavvi Acharjya.

 

On October 16th 2019, a talk show for a special program was organised on a very sensitive issue of a girl child’s agony after the loss of her mother. The emotional turmoil and the tug of war between her maternal grandparents/aunts and her biological father had to be discussed from a psychological perspective. The President of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL), Mythili Hazarika had her stance as a mental health professional to prevail the child’s right at all times with focus on her mental stability and not to exaggerate such personal issues in public forum. Insight was facilitated about the huge impact of such shows on her mental status so as to address such issues therapeutically keeping in mind the child’s life in the long run.

On October 12th 2019,  the President of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL), Mythili Hazarika acted as the master of the ceremony in the 29th annual conference of IPS, Assam state branch at Sankaradeva Kalakshetra with the theme on Bipolar disorders: emerging concepts and paradigms.
