‘MONON’ was finally launched on 15 June 2020. Counsellors started connecting individually to the COVID-19 patients through 104. Anyone in distress, needing any kind of support for behaviour and emotional issues, to clarify any doubts regarding Covid-19 or any other issues related to psychosocial domains, to ensure whether one is healthy in true sense can call in 104 and ask for MONON team to address their issues. A safe space without judgement or labels for calling this number and confidential counselling sessions.

Live with ‘My News NE’
The President of the Society for Mental Health in LAMIC (SoMHiL), Mythili Hazarika was live on ‘My News NE’ on 14th June, 2020 and had a discussion on ‘MONON: Assam Cares’, Depression and the suicide of the actor Sushant Singh Rajput with reporter Mriganka Saikia.

The Honourable Health Minister, Government of Assam, India, launches “Monon”, a programme to address and fill the gap of mental health needs of the COVID-19 patients as well as the quarantined individuals, with a team of psychiatrists, psychologists, clinical psychologists, psychiatric social workers, and trained voluntary counsellors, under the observation and leadership of Mythili Hazarika, Bornali Das, and Shyamanta Das.
